In May 2000, Bermuda High Soaring held it's first Down-Wind-Dash fun fly.  The object of this event was for the pilots to fly a straight line distance as far as they could.

The day turned out to be hot and "blue", but soarable.  The lack of CU's to mark thermals resulted in a bit of team flying, with 3 pilots landing at the same airport approximately 100 miles away!  All of the participants had a great time.  Below are some photos from this event.

Gliders line up prior to takeoff, with the 1-26's leading the way.  Note the lack of CU's in the Carolina blue sky!

Three of the pilots decided to land at the same airport, Elizabethtown NC, approximately 100 miles east of Bermuda High.  Here the crews have shown up to gather their pilots and gliders.
